Another beautiful day for our 70km ride from Yeoval to Dubbo. Photo of pre-breakfast cuppa on verandah of Royal at Yeoval. Followed by breakfast of egg and bacon rolls at Banjo Patterson Museum and a leisurely start to our ride at 9am. Alf and Sharon at Museum also provided delicious choc slices for morning tea. Denise and Rae went ahead and set up morning tea at Envionmental Centre at Wambangalong abt 35 km from Yeoval. 80 riders doing the annual Black Dog Charity ride were also there for their morning tea break. Good chats all round. Met up with them again at zoo at 1pm and got free entry for quick circuit of Western Plains. Lunch at zoo then short ride to Dubbo - great cycle path besides river. A bit of a lay day. Rode out to zoo and Dundullimal historic homestead on cycleway along river. Not far but very scenic. Zoo has improved heaps since I was there last many years ago. They now do keeper presentations throughout the day and show animals close up. Got an amazing shot of hippo. Duldunnimal homestead was also excellent. Slab cottage on steroids. Had lunch there. Dinner at Commercial Hotel with four local friends/family of Garry.
