Denis Mahboub, a member of Windsor Cyclists, achieved a very creditable second in the National Penny Farthing Championship at Evandale, Tasmania.

The Evandale Championship is the largest of its kind in the world. This year there were 55 entries, including two international participants from the Czech Republic and Japan.

Denis entered three events on the Saturday: the Slow Race [very hard to ride slowly on a Penny Farthing!], the Slalom and the Veterans Over 70s Championship. On the Sunday he raced from Evandale to Clarendon Lodge, a distance of some 50km.

Members of Windsor Cyclists, Garry and Juliette [together with their son Nick] and Robert travelled down to Evandale especially for the event and to cheer Denis to victory!
